Special features which our customers tell us make this facility desirable for working vacation-type gatherings include:

  • Privacy The entire building is rented by you and only by you. Groups can meet with greater privacy than at hotel or conference-type facilities.
  • Services Meeting groups that desire greater privacy may, for example, rent a house. House rentals, however, come without needed A/V, computer and internet technical support. Attendees are further distracted by cooking, cleaning, food shopping, and laundry - not the sort of "work" significant to accomplish on a working vacation. At Ski Inn groups enjoy the privacy of a house without giving up useful services.
  • Group interaction For meetings where organizers wish to encourage group interaction, in-room amenities such as telephones and television that might result in individuals' isolating themselves from the group are moved to common areas. This encourages attendees to interact to a greater degree.
  • Fewer distractions For situations where organizers expect attendees to accomplish a significant amount of work, most facilities at resort areas are optimized for recreation and vacation, not work. Conference rooms look out over swimming pools, beaches, and volleyball courts, for example, crowded with people having fun. Attendees experience difficulty concentrating, such as feeling "stuck indoors." At Ski Inn, on-site and nearby recreational activities are not visible from the building, terrace or yards. The environment is refreshing and creative, but not one that is distracting.
  • Size Retreat-type properties are sometimes so spacious that attendees get lost in various rooms and fail to interact. Our facility is sized just right - so that up to 20 attendees interact comfortably but are neither overcrowded or isolated.
  • A/V, internet, satellite customized to meet your needs.
  • On-site A/V, computer, telecom and datacom technician to assist with equipment set-up, troubleshooting, and on-site repairs.
  • On-site catering customized to meet your needs.

Location Town center 5 miles. Expressway, Amtrak station 14 miles. International airport 40 miles. On 28 acre estate, surrounded by 5,000 acres of pristine wilderness vistas in all directions, about 300 feet away from the road located back from the highway among the evergreens. Trapp Family property to south, Stowe Mountain Resort property to west. Perennial gardens, walking paths, a picnic area on the banks of our lovely mountain brook and is bordered by the vast Mt. Mansfield State Forest with its miles of well maintained hiking and biking trails, trout streams and solitude. Forest View

Seminar Facilities Our 500 sq. ft. living room (pictured right) seats up to 13 comfortably on sofas. Up to 30 additional attendees can be seated on antique wood chairs and folding chairs (behind camera) or up to 36 can be seated around a 25 ft. long conference table (behind camera) with projector screen at the end of the table.

Decor features hardwood maple flooring and tables, a fieldstone fireplace, oriental carpets, native knotty pine woodwork, comfortable seating, and fine locally-made furnishings. A top-of-the-line Yamaha hi-fi system is available for guest use. Living Room

Green Room Guest Rooms The facility has 10 1/2 rooms available in winter and 8 rooms available summer & fall. 2 1/2 rooms have single beds only; other rooms have double and single beds. Two rooms have queen size beds. Group organizers can assign rooms in any manner acceptable to participants. Rooms are heated with a central hot air oil-fired furnace. Smoking is not permitted because smoke circulates throughout the building. Air is exchanged with outside air at a rate of about 15% per hour in winter ensuring plenty of fresh air for concentration. Due to its high elevation and north-slope location the building rarely needs A/C and therefore is not air conditioned.

Delicious Food Our catering staff can provide any combination of breakfast, lunch, and dinner, morning and afternoon breaks and the cost is included in your room rate. We have a dozen or so standard dishes we developed over the years specifically to please as many guests as possible. We use fresh produce, meats, grains and diary products as found in a typical US supermarket or health food store and we are happy to accommodate vegetarians. Our early breakfast gets you to the slopes when they open. At breakfast and dinner our guests seat themselves around big tables and help themselves. Bring your own wine or buy it locally. Chill it in the snow bank! Dining Room
