Ski Inn A cool, quiet and comfortable summer vacation escape. On 28 acre estate, surrounded by 5,000 acres of pristine wilderness vistas in all directions. Trapp Family property to south, Stowe Mountain Resort property to west. Perennial gardens, walking paths, a picnic area on the banks of our lovely mountain brook and is bordered by the vast Mt. Mansfield State Forest with its miles of well maintained hiking and biking trails, trout streams and solitude. Delicious crystal clear drinking water from a bubbling Vermont mountain spring. Town center 5 miles. Expressway, train, bus station 14 miles. (History buffs Click here for Ski Inn history.) |
| Family suites with private baths. Free continental breakfast. Rooms are large and colorful each with both a double and single bed. In the early days of skiing lodge accommodations did not typically include a private bath in every room. Lodges had two large walk-in bathrooms on each floor, one for men and one for women, and each bathroom had private showers and tubs inside. In the late 1950s we added private baths where we could fit them in but we could not build them into all rooms. Therefore, you can still save money by renting a room with no private bath. The main baths are just across the hall. | ![]() |

Cross Country Crossroads. At Ski Inn you are at the center of the cross country trail network in the valley. This is because surrounding trail systems - east, west, north and south - pass by Ski Inn property. Cross country trails make excellent hiking trails because there are no unexpected cliffs or dead-ends. Hikers need only walk out our back door with map in hand to enjoy this trail network! |
Quiet - away from the road. The Ski Inn is about 300 feet away from the road located back from the highway among the evergreens. It is a quiet place to relax and enjoy. Take a path through the woods and meet friendly turkeys, hens and sheep-great for kids! Nearby Attractions. See how maple syrup is made at the Maple Museum. Watch apple cider being pressed at the Cold Hollow Cider Mill. Eat fresh frozen ice cream at the Ben & Jerry's factory. See historic covered bridges. 1/2 hour to Vermont state house, museums and granite quarry where scenes from the movie Batman were filmed. |
