Ski Inn This comfortable inn, noted for good food and good conversation, is a great gathering place for interesting people. Guests enjoy themselves and each other, in the game room, and while tuning skis at the work bench. The Ski Inn is for people who enjoy meeting new people, who enjoy good conversation, and who prefer a traditional ski lodge experience. It is a haven for mature individuals who often ski alone, not always by choice. Guests are invited to share in one of the ski area's first ski lodges, Ski Inn was built and is still operated by the Heyer family, attesting to a successful family-run operation with over a half-century commitment to value and style. (Click here to learn about the early days of Ski Inn.)

A fieldstone fireplace warms the knotty pine living room, carpeted with oriental rugs. Guests are invited to share in the warmth and conversation in front of the wood fire (BYOB). Background music is classical.

Family suites with private baths. Rates include full breakfast and dinner. Rooms are large and colorful each with both a double and single bed. In the early days of skiing lodge accommodations did not typically include a private bath in every room. Lodges had two large walk-in bathrooms on each floor, one for men and one for women, and each bathroom had private showers and tubs inside. In the late 1950s we added private baths where we could fit them in but we could not build them into all rooms. Therefore, you can still save money by renting a room with no private bath. The main baths are just across the hall.

The Ski Inn property sits next to ski area property on 28 acres of countryside. The closest lift is 900 yards away, and the main ski lift hub is 1 1/2 miles away (pictured left). Eager skiers can hit the slopes when they open. Drive for 5 minutes to the lift of your choice or take the shuttle bus. At the end of your ski day, relax on that last run! No long line of red tail lights on your short return drive to Ski Inn! Adventuresome skiers at the end of the day can take a cross country trail back to Ski Inn. Note: this trail has some flat areas where snowboarders must walk. The trail is through wilderness areas without houses, roads, or lights.

Cross Country Crossroads. At Ski Inn you are at the center of the cross country trail network in the valley. This is because surrounding trail systems - east, west, north and south - pass by Ski Inn property. Cross country skiers need only put on their skis at our door to enjoy this trail network!

Quiet - away from the road. The Ski Inn is about 300 feet away from the road located back from the highway among the evergreens. It is a quiet place to relax and enjoy.

Delicious food. We serve breakfast and dinner and the cost is included in your room rate. We have a dozen or so standard dishes that Mrs. Heyer developed over the years specifically to please as many guests as possible. We use fresh produce, meats, grains and diary products as found in a typical US supermarket or health food store and we are happy to accommodate vegetarians. Our early breakfast gets you to the slopes when they open. At breakfast and dinner our guests seat themselves around big tables and help themselves. Bring your own wine or buy it locally. Chill it in the snow bank!

Apres ski. Game room, sledding or saucer sliding on our gently slopes, or just some good conversation!

Heated indoor storage for skis, snowboards and boots. After skiing you can bring your ski equipment indoors to warm up and melt off. Here is our mighty LENNOX 1-ton furnace at work keeping us toasty warm!

Fully equipped ski/snowboard work room. You can work on your ski equipment in our fully equipped ski work room, stocked by Lyndall Heyer, a former member of the US Ski Team.

In this age of motels and condominiums where everything tends to be impersonal, one finds friendliness and personal attention at Ski Inn. Best of all are the very reasonable rates, attesting to a successful family-run operation with over a half-century commitment to value and style!
